Cresta Marukyu EXP is an all-round groundbait that attracts practically all fish species and can be used with any fishing technique, as it consists of 100% crushed expander pellets. The fine texture creates a beautiful, soft-textured mix with a medium binding power that breaks down easily on the bottom. The extrusion process of the high-quality ingredients ensures that all particles, even the finest ones, sink to the bottom, creating a temporary clouding effect. All these characteristics make Cresta Marukyu EXP an absolute top-tier groundbait for species such as bream, tench, carp, roach, and F1s. It is available in no fewer than 3 varieties (Natural, Sweet Secret, and Chocopex Dark), whose sweet aromas, combined with the fishmeal, give the mix an unprecedented pulling power. The variants come in 2kg bags, which is more than enough for multiple sessions. Cresta Marukyu EXP can be used on heavily pressured commercials as well as on open, still natural waters up to a maximum depth of 3 meters. Naturally, these groundbaits mix perfectly with Cresta Marukyu Method Plus and Micro Method Pellets, but certainly also on a 50/50 basis with traditional silverfish groundbaits based on bread and maize. By wetting the groundbait correctly, it can be easily and properly prepared for the pole, the standard feeder, the method feeder, as well as for use as a paste.
Method & Hybrid
Measure 2 parts of dry groundbait using a bait tub and transfer to a round mixing bowl or bucket. Next, measure 1 part water. Pour 70% of this into the dry groundbait. Mix the water thoroughly through the bait for optimal distribution. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and then push the mix through a 2-3 mm riddle to ensure the moisture is perfectly even. Add the remaining 30% of the water and repeat the steps above. For the best results, damp the groundbait at least several hours before the all-in.
Open end & Cage feeder
When using the EXP groundbait neat in a traditional feeder, damp it just like you would for the pole. When cutting it with a traditional groundbait, follow these steps: place both blends in the desired ratio (e.g. 50/50) into a round bucket and dry-mix thoroughly. Next, slowly add water while mixing vigorously. When the mix feels wet enough, leave it to stand for 15 to 30 minutes before pushing it through a 4 mm riddle to ensure the moisture is perfectly distributed. By now, the groundbait will have absorbed the water and will need a bit more moisture to reach the perfect consistency; running it through the riddle one more time is highly recommended to get the mix beautifully fluffy.
Canne
Measure 5 parts of dry groundbait using a bait tub and transfer to a round mixing bowl or bucket. Next, measure 2 parts water. Pour 70% of this into the dry groundbait. Mix the water thoroughly through the bait for optimal distribution. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and then push the mix through a 2-3 mm riddle to ensure the moisture is perfectly even. Add the remaining 30% of the water and repeat the steps above. For the best results, damp the groundbait at least several hours before the all-in and introduce live bait for extra pulling power.
Paste
Measure 1 part of dry groundbait using a bait tub and transfer to a round mixing bowl or bucket. Next, take 70% of that one part water, pour it into the dry groundbait and mix thoroughly. Wait about 15 minutes, then add the remaining 30% of the water and knead the mix vigorously to squeeze out all the air. This creates the perfect paste to mould onto the hook. It breaks down slowly but stays beautifully soft, making it easy to strike through. Tight lines!
